I worked with Hooch on a digital promotional campaign, which they collaborated with Rakuten TV on, to giveaway a movie with every can or bottle of Hooch. My involvement surrounded creating the digital campaign for the launch of the promotional drinks cans and bottles, the videos were filmed by Sophia Carey. From concept to completion, I created animated posts depicting various film genres featuring every-day Hooch-drinkers (actors & models). For example, regular Hooch-drinkers turned into super heroes, or their hands turned into monster claws…
These were all shared on the Hooch social channels, with a selection of the GIF’s viewing over 500k in just over a week from the launch.
This was all done in a stop-motion style of animation, much like GIF animations. I thought this would lend itself well to then make branded animated GIFs in the same way so people could use them on their instagram stories, further promoting the brand’s new collaboration. The feel of flickering frame by frame films is what inspired this choice.
